First Two Tickets Punched of the Day for Albany and Memphis

Culture

On a day where 13 automatic bids are handed out, two have been punched thus far today.

Memphis knocked off Southern Mississippi in double overtime 91-79 to take the Conference USA title.  Memphis was undefeated in conference this year and Southern Mississippi appears as if they just missed out.  The Golden Eagles almost stole a bid here as they sent the game into overtime as Jonathan Mills made a layup, which left his hand with 0.1 seconds left to tie the game at 62.

In the other conference tournament final thus far, number four seeded Albany knocked off second seeded Vermont to snatch the America East conference tournament crown and an NCAA tournament bid.  This is the team's third NCAA tournament bid and their first since making it in consecutive years in 2006 and 2007.
