University Of Central Florida Evacuted After Explosives, Dead Man Found in Dorm

Hundreds of students from University of Central Florida (UCF) have found themselves without residence after being evacuated from Tower 1 early Monday morning. Students were asked to leave while Florida authorities investigate the death of of a Florida man who was found dead in a dorm from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

The man was also found with a handgun, assault weapon, and bag of improvised explosive devices. As a precaution, the student residence and a parking garage were closed down and a bomb squad was called in. 

Police found the body at around 12:20 a.m on Monday morning in Tower 1. Some news outlets are reporting that they arrived on the scene after a fire alarm was set off, others say police were called in after someone dialed 9-1-1 to report a person had a gun

UCF is home to some 59,000 students. The displaced students will be housed in UCF Arena. The school has not officially stated whether or not the man is a student, but some local Florida affiliates say he was. University authorities do not believe that the students are in danger but have canceled classes through noon on Monday as a precaution.
