Jodi Arias Trial LIVE Stream: Domestic Violence Expert On Stand Now

Impact

The murder trial of Arizona woman Jodi Arias resumes in Phoenix on Tuesday, as a defense expert witness on domestic violence continues her testimony. On Monday, defense expert psychologist Richard Samuels concluded six days of testimony, during which prosecutor Juan Martinez subjected him to especially scathing cross-examination. Martinez hammered Samuels for diagnosing Arias with post-traumatic stress disorder based on two, rather than three criteria. Martinez also suggested that Samuels had feelings for Arias, and perhaps even formed a relationship with her, and that this was biasing his findings.

Arias is charged with murdering her boyfriend, Travis Alexander in June 2008. Alexander said she was acting in self-defense after he attacked her. Alexander was shot in the face and stabbed 29 times. Arias could face the death penalty if convicted of first degree murder.
