Sweet Sixteen Preview: Ohio State, West Region Breakdown

Culture

Well this bracket is a mess. Only two of the top eight seeds remain after 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 were all sent home early by the overpowering underdogs that took over the West Region.

Wichita State handled top seed Gonzaga and LaSalle is the only team in the tournament with three wins after the team had to win a play-in game over Boise State to face Kansas State in the first round. Meanwhile, the bottom half of the bracket saw Ohio State and Arizona keep things somewhat under control.

Ohio Sate will face Arizona on Thursday night at 7:47p.m. EDT in Los Angeles before LaSalle and Wichita State square off around 10:17p.m. Both games will be broadcast on TBS. The winners will face off Saturday with a trip to Atlanta and the Final Four on the line.

Prediction: It is probably a safe bet to take the winner of the Ohio State/Arizona game to the Final Four. However, Wichita State is a team that could handle either of the juggernauts. They did beat 1-seed Gonzaga.

But in the end, it looks like Ohio State is peaking at the right time and finds themselves in the easiest bracket. Look for them to cut down the nets in LA on Saturday.
