Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, or Rick Santorum? What Factors Should You Use to Decide Your Vote in 2012?

Impact

The Republican presidential candidates are making a final push for votes in Iowa today ahead of Tuesday's much-anticipated Iowa Caucus.

The latest Iowa poll shows front-runner Mitt Romney in first-place with 24% of the votes, Ron Paul right behind with 22%, and Rick Santorum trailing in third place with 16.3 percent of the vote.

But, the race is still up for grabs, as 41 percent of Iowans are still undecided on the eve of the caucuses. Voters will have to weigh a myriad of factors as they decide on their preferred candidate – everything from candidates' policy positions and personalities, to their social and moral values and even their parenting skills.

Interestingly, men and women tend to use different criteria when selecting their candidate. Women seem to rely not only on information about a candidate's policy platform, but also on personal infomation about a candidate's honesty and integrity.
