Boston Marathon Bombing Victims: One Of Those Killed 8-Year-Old

Impact

Police officials have confirmed that one of the victims killed by today's Boston Marathon bombing was an eight-year-old.

Two bombs were detonated in sequence near the finish line of the Boston Marathon today, killing an indeterminate (but likely no more than a few) number of people, but injuring as many as 100. A quick response from Boston emergency services, as well as heroic fellow citizens who rushed to aid the victims, appears to be partially responsible for rescuing many of the wounded and preventing the death toll from climbing higher.

However, today we mourn the loss of at least one defenseless child, who was killed in a senseless attack on a completely peaceful gathering of civilians. There is no excuse for this.
