Nike's "Boston Massacre" T-Shirts Taken Off the Shelves After Bombing

Impact

In the wake of the Boston bombing that has left 170 injured and three dead, Nike has decided to yank its  "Boston Massacre" T-shirts off the shelf. The company acted quickly to remove it from all its outlets and the Nike website.

The T-shirt was designed for Yankees fans to commemorate the team's 1978 pennant run, where the Yankees swept a crucial three-game late season series against the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees subsequently defeated the Red Sox in a one-game playoff, and went on to win the World Series.

In an email to the Associated Press, Nike spokeswoman Mary Remuzzi said, "we conducted this process as quickly as possible and are confident the product has been removed from distribution."
