Amanda Bynes Crazy? Police Visited Actress' Apartment, Says Jenny McCarthy

Impact

I still remember plunking down in front of my grandmother’s television to watch All That and The Amanda Show, giggling as Amanda Bynes charmed Nickelodeon viewers with her wit, spot on impersonations, and her ridiculously eccentric characters.

I followed her career into film, though not actively, and enjoyed the ferocious humility she brought to England in What a Girl Wants (also ... Colin Firth, am I right?), the adaptation of Shakespeare in She’s the Man, and the subsequent Snow White take-off, Sydney White

This week, however, news broke of police storming the retired actress’ home when they received a call from Kim Kardashian’s former publicist, Jonathan Jaxson, because he was convinced she was suicidal and he worried about her mental state. He tweeted, "I just spoke to @AmandaBynes and she is soooo messed up on drugs and please @NY_POLICE find her and help her," he tweeted. "I don't know her address! @TMZ".

At which point, Jenny McCarthy decided to join in the discussion, tweeting, “Police are at @AmandaBynes house. I hope they get her help. Enough of this circus. She needs help.”

Many associates and fans of Bynes have been concerned over her behavior of late, especially after she tweeted racy photos of herself, such as this pic:

In a recent InTouch interview, Bynes tackled rumors that she was insane by declaring, “I have no clue [why people say I’m insane]. Every time I’ve heard it, it came from an ugly person’s mouth, so I don’t care.” While she knocks down rumors that she is addicted to alcohol (“I’m allergic to alcohol”), the young starlet is prone to staying up all night, tweeting relentlessly.

As information continues to surface, I hope Bynes is able to get the help she deserves. As an avid tweeter and as someone who has had trouble with sleep, I feel as though there is more to the picture than Jaxson, McCarthy, and police are letting on.

Bynes seems to alienate herself from people by stating, “I only have hot friends. They have my back until I die.” Here’s hoping she can find some peace among all the upset lately.
