One World Trade Center: Spire Hoisted Up, Making Building 1,776 Feet Tall [PHOTOS]

Culture

Sit back in awe of human architectural might.

The spire to rest atop One World Trade Center was lifted up to the roof today, and the result is inspiring.

Check out these photos taken as construction crews raise the 408-foot spire from ground level all the way to the top of the building. The spire will give One World Trade Center the title of the tallest building in the West with a total height of 1,776 (a critical date in our nation's history, ICYMI) feet once installed.

Cue 'God Bless America.'
