South Carolina Election 2013 Results: And The Polls Have Closed!

Impact

And the polls have closed in the South Carolina 1st Congressional special election. However people who were still in line when the polls closed are entitled to vote, precincts with no lines can count and send in their results immediately.

As is normal with election results the smaller rural counties will be counted the quickest. These counties lean heavily Republican so they should give Mark Sanford an early lead. If he struggles in the beginning it is not good news for his campaign.

As for Elizabeth Colbert Busch, she is counting on the more populated counties for her votes. Her campaign will be especially be interested in the numbers coming from Beaufort county, considered by many to be her stronghold.
