Republicans Try to Repeal Obamacare For 37th Time, Obama Crushes Them in a 3-Word Tweet

Impact

On Thursday, House Republicans again attempted to repeal Obamacare, for the 37th time. And in a move aimed at generating excitement for the vote amongst opponents of the law they started a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #ObamaCareinThreeWords. While the measure passed the Republican-controlled House, it has no chance of passing the Democrat-controlled Senate or Obama's veto. Just like the last 36 attempts to repeal the health care law. The Twitter campaign, however, has taken off. Although perhaps not quite how Republicans imagined.

The campaign, led by Representative Darrell Issa of California, began with tweets from high profile Republicans:

But then the White House owned them all with this:

Which got Republicans annoyed, with Representative John Fleming and Speaker Boehner weighing in:

Except that, as Rachel Maddow of MSNBC points out, what exactly is "intimidating" and "arrogant" about describing federal law as federal law? It is the law, no matter how much Republicans would like that to not be the case.

Then, of course, people started having fun with it on Twitter:

Clever and amusing tweets aside, as the Michelle Cottle of The Daily Beast puts it, it is still "Obamacare 37, Republicans 0" when it comes to attempts to overturn the law.

So, #ObamaCareinThreeWords anyone?
