Apple Tax Hearings: CEO Tim Cook Gets a Break With Questions From Senators McCaskill and Johnson

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) got into the nitty-gritty details of Apple’s operations. McCaskill, one of the few remaining business friendly Blue Dog Democrats and a self admitted Apple fan, asked questions about the general operations but was much less combative the Chairman Levin or Senator McCain. She focused on how they would simply the tax code.

Senator Ron Johnson basically rushed to the defense of Apple. He brought up other taxes Apple pays, Apple stockholders, how state tax issues are the same as international tax issues, and how corporate tax reparation would be a win-win in his view for the Federal government. Johnson asked no probing questions about the Apple tax structure.
