Adam Kokesh: New Footage Shows Anti-Prohibition Protester Getting Arrested For ... Well, What Exactly?

Impact

New video has emerged of anti-prohibition activist Adam Kokesh's arrest during a pro-marijuana rally in Philadelphia. The new footage contradicts police statements saying Kokesh resisted arrest and assaulted police during the rally.

I've often wondered how a person can be arrested for resisting arrest without first engaging in a crime that warrants an arrest in the first place.  The video below clearly shows that Kokesh was targeted and arrested for simply speaking out against marijuana prohibition. He had no drugs on him, nor was he smoking pot at the time police assaulted him.

As a reminder, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

After reviewing the tape, it appears as though the police are guilty of assault, false arrest, filing a fraudulent police report, kidnapping, and abuse of authority. Of course, in police-state America, the police are above the law. So what would constitute a virtual life sentence for a civilian will probably amount to nothing more than a slap on the write for the police involved in this case, if even that.
