Presidential Election 2012: Romney Is Still Talking About His Election Loss

After the intense presidential election saga of 2012 and Mitt Romney's embarrassing loss, you would think that Romney would put it behind him and move on to the next political step. After all, it does nothing for his political career to remember that year of missteps and gaffes.

Apparently, Romney doesn't feel the same way. More than six months after Romney lost the election, he's still talking about it.

On Fox News on Friday, Romney ended up discussing his election loss with Neil Cavuto. Romney stated, "I spoke with a leading Democrat, one of the top leaders of the Democratic Party and he said, 'I thought you had won, one week out.'" Not content just bringing back up the topic of how close the race was, Romney continued with other excuses of why he lost: "Had the [employment] rate stayed above 8%, that would have made a difference."

To his credit, Romney did end by saying that "the end result was he won, I lost, and you get over that," but coming right after you just spent time talking about all the reasons you lost that were out of your control (while many of the bigger reasons were completely in your control), it comes off as too little, too late.

Aside from Romney proving to be a rather sore loser, many online bloggers and commentators are speculating on the identity of the "leading Democrat" who supposedly told Romney that he was going to win. Greg Sargent of the Washington Post has his money on Bill Clinton because, well, he's Bill Clinton and he can't keep his mouth shut.
