If Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer Had a Smartphone...

Culture

It’s no secret that mobile phones have evolved immensely over the years. From the ringtone craze in the early '00s, to camera phones to the iPhone, the mobile device has seen some of the most rapid growth and innovation of any piece of technology in the last 10 years.

With the advent of cell phones from T-Mobile, Apple, and similar companies came the evolution of faster internet, better apps, an improved camera, and more aesthetic features than one could conceivably keep track of. If you want to organize your bills and create a budget, there’s an app for that. If you’re interested in sharing your photos and connecting with people, there are multiple apps for that.

Given all of this, it’s normal to wonder how others would have fared had the current mobile phone technology been present during our favorite movies and TV shows. How many times have movies and sitcoms used answering-machine screening as a plot device? The idea seems absolutely archaic by today’s standards!

Check out the graphic below to see how some classic TV and movie characters would have benefited by having access to the latest smartphones of today.
