Once a year, a dozen athletes bear all for ESPN's infamous body issue for all of us mortals to get a glimpse of what our bodies could look like we started running for something else than the ice cream truck. Although the magazine came under fire several times for the chauvinistic undertones of its editorial decisions when it came to this special issue, this year they have appeared to have outdone themselves. Although they should be commended for their fair representation of gender and ethnicity, ESPN still has a long way to go. As Dodai Stewart from Jezebel notes, the oldest male athlete in the spread (no pun intended) is 77-years-old while the oldest female is only 34-year-old. Still, the diversity of bodies is pretty impressive and the pictures are impressively pretty. Here's the round-up of the best ones, and make sure to check out ESPN for the complete slideshow.
