Bradley Manning WikiLeaks Charges: What Are They?

Impact

Alleged WikiLeaks whistleblower Bradley Manning has been accused of 21 charges under the Uniform Military Code of Justice. He has plead guilty to several of them involving computer fraud or abuse. Other charges include failure to obey a lawful order, ignoring the protection of classified material, bypassing security software (and several counts charged under the Espionage Act, including delivering national defense information to "persons not entitled to receive it"). However, the most serious (and controversial) charge Manning faces is "aiding the enemy," for which he could face life in prison and the possibility of the death penalty.
