Samsung is releasing its Galaxy Note 3 today and its newest gadget, the Galaxy Gear Smart Watch at the "Unpacked Live" event being held before the international trade conference "IFA 2013" in Berlin.

The latest rumors hold that company's newest phone the "Note 3" will have a slightly larger screen size and re-designed body. An innovative Exynos 5 OctaChip will be behind the phone's updated processing system. 

Samsung is attempting to move forward with a lead in the global smartphone marketplace with today's early announcements. Samsung's smartphone devices recently amassed more than twice the market share of its American competitor, the iPhone. Apple will announce the release of its newest iPhone, the 5s model, as early as September 10.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 is expected to come in at a premium, probably at a price in line with the Galaxy S4 which can cost around $694.99 off-contract, making it more expensive than its Chinese rivals the ZTE Grand Memo and the Huawei Ascend Mate.

A report in Taiwan is suggesting the Galaxy Note 3 release date in stores is set for September 27, which would be three weeks after today's launch event.
