Golden Globes Red Carpet Floods Hours Before Show

Culture

The Golden Globes excitement has already begun and not quite in the way we expected. Thanks to a fire sprinkler malfunction Sunday afternoon, a third of the red carpet is looking pretty soggy. The Hollywood Reporter is actually reporting that the flood is from a sewage pipe burst and not a fire sprinkler. Either way, there's water everywhere.

Keith Simanton, IMDB managing editor, tweeted the below pic of the carpet getting a clean up. The above picture comes from Fandango correspondent Dave Karger.

Clean up is under way and hopefully the carpet will be fully dry by the time the stars start rolling in ... otherwise there will be a lot of dresses in need of immediate dry cleaning.

Ryan Seacrest added some pictures of his own, and some concern for the evening's longer gowns.
