Everything You Missed This Football Season in 160 Seconds

Impact

Super Bowl XLVIII is on Sunday and chances are you'll be watching even if you know nothing about football and only care about the commercials. In fact, most of us are only there for the commercials. And for the fact that it's become the second-largest day for food consumption in the U.S. after Thanksgiving (which, unlike "Super Bowl Sunday," is a real holiday).

Since nine out of 10 people watch the big game at home — either at their house or someone else's — chances are you might have to talk at least a little bit about what's happening on the television screen. So, in case you don't know anything about football or this past season, ESPN has put together a super-simple 120-second crash course to help you out.

And if you're still lost and need a couple major points to keep in mind:

1. The Super Bowl is the championship game of the NFL.

And a couple major story lines to think about:

1. Peyton Manning (Broncos) was the league's greatest quarterback this season and broke a number of NFL records. In fact, he had one of the greatest NFL quarterback seasons of all time. He's really, really good.

That pretty much sums it up. Now, you can fully enjoy both the commercials and the game. But mostly the commercials.
