6 Hilarious Reactions to Last Night's SOTU

Well, that's it. The 2014 State of the Union has come and gone. There was a lot said with laughs and a thumbs-up and plenty that went missing too. Of course, like any State of the Union, there were plenty of responses and reactions before, during and after the actual speech, but a few of them really stood out.

So, here are six of the craziest reactions to last night's State of the Union.  

1. Mike Lee's Inequality Godzilla

During the official Tea Party rebuttal, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) said "Obamacare — all by itself — is an inequality Godzilla that has robbed working families of their insurance, their doctors, their wages and their jobs."

This obviously made the Twitterverse blow up, and for good reason. It was an equally awesome and crazy thing to say. But the main reason it's such an interesting phrase is because it demonstrates Lee's complete lack of understanding of Godzilla. Godzilla does not rob people, he destroys them by stomping on their houses and breathing fire into their towns. Mr. Lee, if you're going to go through all the trouble of forcing Godzilla into your speech, at least get it right. 

2. Tim Huelskamp's Twitter Spree

Congressman Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) took to Twitter during and after the State of the Union in an apparent effort to get a couple trends moving, namely: #Lawless and #LiesYouTell.

Unfortunately for the Congressman, neither of them really took hold and he soon after spoke with Rachel Maddow on MSNBC to talk about his thoughts. Maddow asked him about his tweets, and it didn't go ... well. 

3. An Actual Socialist Chimes In

Last year, actual socialist Kshama Sawant won a seat on the Seattle City Council while running on an actually socialist platform. It may seem like small fries, but this was the first time a socialist has been elected to anything remotely this high in modern history. Shortly after Obama finished his address, Sawant offered a "socialist rebuttal" that accussed Obama of his multiple evils and in some cases, despite being eloquently written, sounded dangerously close to conspiracy theories. 

4. Randy Weber's Pre-sponse

Rather than wait until the president actually said anything, Rep. Randy Weber (R-Texas) took to twitter to complain about the wait times. 

That's right, Rep. Weber straught-up called Obama a socialist dictator. Seems kind of harsh. Also, what's the deal aggressively misspelling "commander?" 

Before too long, Weber went back to twitter to launch out a few more zingers.

5. Katie Pavlich on Global Warming

In response to Obama's comments about climate change, Townhall's Katie Pavlich tossed out a real crushing blow to the argument.

Yeah, she definitely understands how the science of climate change works. 

6. Erik Erickson on Abortion Barbie

Feeling the need to share his thoughts, Erik Erickson in response to Obama's comments on equal pay for men and women.

Again, seriously? What the hell?!
