The Ferguson Grand Jury Has Reached a Decision in the Death of Michael Brown

Impact

According to multiple sources, a grand jury has finally reached a decision in the case of 28-year-old Ferguson Police Department Officer Darren Wilson for fatally shooting 18-year-old black teenager Michael Brown.

The grand jury has not yet announced their decision, but a press conference will likely be held today, possibly as late as 8 p.m. CST, to announce whether Wilson will be tried in criminal court, potentially on charges of second-degree murder.

In the meantime, CNN has reported that the grand jury was composed of just three African-Americans and nine white people — though 67.4% of Ferguson is black.
