Ronda Rousey Calls Out Floyd Mayweather: "I Can Beat Anyone on This Planet"
Ronda Rousey thinks she can take down Floyd Mayweather.
Not in a boxing match, mind you, but a "no rules" fight in which the UFC champ could use whatever tactics she felt best to take down the five-division world champion.
During an "Ask Me Anything" Q&A on Reddit, Rousey responded to a user who asked her how she would fare in matches against various opponents, including Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino, Miesha Tate and Mayweather, to which she responded:
The full answer is below:
Rousey is still riding strong in the wake of her recent 34-second victory over Brazilian fighter Bethe Correia, putting down the challenger to her UFC bantamweight title as hard as the four previous ones.
Rousey's brewing feud with Mayweather has also made headlines. During her ESPY Best Fighter acceptance ceremony, Rousey brought up the boxer's history of domestic abuse allegations, saying she wondered how he felt about being "beat by a woman for once" and adding, "I'd like to see you pretend not to know who I am now." Mayweather, in turn, mocked Rousey's pay grade in comparison to the $300 million he made during his match against Manny Pacquiao.
While the Mayweather-Rousey match will likely never happen, Rousey certainly doesn't seem to be backing down from the heated rhetoric. For now, Mayweather's many critics will just have to satiate themselves imagining the UFC fighter teaching him the lesson he deserves.
