Former Disney Channel starlet Miley Cyrus sent a series of tweets Sunday night featuring her new platinum pixie cut.

A rebellious change to her look, Cyrus traded in her girlish long hair for shaved undercut sides.

The 19-year-old donated her famous hair to a cancer foundation. She retweeted a video of an interview at age 15, in which she talks about wanting a Twiggy inspired haircut.

Cyrus defended her decision with confidence and a quote from her father, Billy Ray Cyrus:

She tweeted 10 photos of her hair. This is one of them:

Twitter blew up over Cyrus’ new ‘do.

The Helen Keller parody account poked fun at Miley Cyrus' new style.

Some even compared her new haircut to that of a teenage boy's.

In addition to chatter about her new 'do, internet rumors are spreading about the young actress’ possible guest role on the television series Two and a Half Men. Cyrus also made headlines by gracing the cover of this month's issue of Marie Claire.

Miley Cyrus made news this year when she announced her engagement to Liam Hemsworth, who she met while filming The Last Song. Cyrus told Marie Claire, “I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement."

It looks like Cyrus doing everything possible to leave her Hannah Montana days behind.
