Broadway's revival of The Color Purple will soon have a album to share with its adoring public. Playbill reports that the show's cast will begin recording a soundtrack on Monday for a Jan. 29 release date via Broadway Records. American sound engineer Frank Filipetti will produce the soundtrack. Fans can be the first to receive a copy of the compilation by pre-ordering the album from the record label here

The soundtrack early next year comes from the latest rendition of The Color Purple, directed by John Doyle, and which debuted at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London on Thursday. The show stars Jennifer Hudson, Cynthia Erivo and, notably, Danielle Brooks of Orange is the New Black
