Elon Musk's Tesla Model 3 Will Have a Vegan Interior, Delighting Animal Lovers
Tesla's newest electric car is sure to delight animal lovers.
Tesla first provided a vegan option in its Model S, which launched in 2012. Customers who eschewed leather could opt for cloth-covered seats instead — but they had to special-order a non-leather-wrapped steering wheel if they wanted a fully vegan interior.
When asked on Twitter if vegan interiors would be an option in the Tesla Model 3, CEO Elon Musk responded in the affirmative:
In January, Tesla introduced vegan leather, giving animal-welfare-conscious customers the same luxury offerings as their leather-loving counterparts.
Musk first debuted the Model 3 on March 31, 2016. With a price tag of $35,000, it is the company's most inexpensive car.
The Model 3 completes Tesla's trilogy of luxury electric vehicles: the Model S, the Model 3, and the Model X.
