What Time Are MTV Video Music Awards: Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato Will Win Big

The Video Music Awards are live Thursday night and we all know what that means - anything can happen. From a double decker red carpet to stars dressed to the nines, to Kevin Hart as the host, viewers can tune in to see a star studded, hilarious, and fun show.

Featured performances by: A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Green Day, P!nk, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, One Direction, and Taylor Swift.

But what we really care about are the nominations, so with bated breath and sweaty palms I will give you all my predictions along with who should win.

To start off with, the most nods have gone to Drake and Rihanna who lead the nomination pack. While I personally share the feelings of DMX on Drake, I promise I won’t hate on him too bad in this article.

VIDEO OF THE YEAR:
Who Should Win - Gotye, "Somebody That I Used To Know"
Because that Gotye song got stuck in EVERYONE’S head for MONTHS.

Who Will Win - Drake feat. Rihanna, "Take Care"
Because everyone likes Drake but me.

BEST NEW ARTIST
Who Should Win - Frank Ocean, "Swim Good"
Because Frank Ocean is one of the best lyricists, he’s revolutionary and his music is the stuff of legends.

Who Will Win - Carly Rae Jepsen, "Call Me Maybe" or One Direction, "What Makes You Beautiful"

BEST HIP-HOP VIDEO
Who Should Win - Childish Gambino, "Heartbeat"
Childish has a style all his own, his rhymes are smart and quick, and apparently no one is taking notice of him.

Who Will Win -  Watch the Throne, "Paris"
I can respect it if they win, but I swear I will cry if Nicki Minaj wins.

BEST MALE VIDEO
Who Should Win - Frank Ocean, "Swim Good"
If you watch it you’ll understand.

Who Will Win - Chris Brown, "Turn Up the Music" or Usher, "Climax"
Sex sells.

BEST FEMALE VIDEO
Who Should Win - Beyoncé, "Love on Top"
I’m just saying this so Kanye doesn’t yell at me.

Who Will Win - Katy Perry, "Part of Me"
This is a pretty badass video, so I hope it does win.

BEST POP VIDEO
Who Should Win - Justin Bieber, "Boyfriend"
Because as much as I wouldn’t like to admit it, I kind of like this song.

Who Will Win - Rihanna, "We Found Love"
It is a popular song, everyone likes Rihanna!

BEST ROCK VIDEO
Who Should Win - The Black Keys, "Lonely Boy"

Who Will Win - Coldplay, "Paradise"

*Disclaimer*
I’m pretty ignorant about rock music so I’m going purely on hearsay.

BEST ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC VIDEO
Who Should Win - Avicii, “Levels” or Duck Sauce, "Big Bad Wolf"
“Levels” because it’s catchy and “Big Bad Wolf” because it’s so weird and hilarious.

Who Will Win - Calvin Harris, "Feel So Close"
This damn song was on the radio every single time I turned it on.

BEST VIDEO WITH A MESSAGE
Who Should Win - K'Naan feat. Nelly Furtado, "Is Anybody Out There?" or Lil Wayne, "How to Love"
K’Naan is an amazing up and coming artist with real lyrics and a great vision. As much as I think Lil Wayne is a sham of a rapper, this video was pretty touching.

Who Will Win - Demi Lovato, "Skyscraper"
She’s been in public eye lately with the X Factor news and gearing up for another season so it wouldn’t be surprising if she won.

BEST ART DIRECTION
Who Should Win - Regina Spektor, "All the Rowboats"
This video is wild and awesome.

Who Will Win - Drake feat. Rihanna, "Take Care"
Because everything done in black and white is “artistic”

BEST CHOREOGRAPHY
Who Should Win - Jennifer Lopez f/Pitbull, "Dance Again"
The Latins should always win anything involving dancing.

Who Will Win - Chris Brown, "Turn Up the Music" or Rihanna, "Where Have You Been"

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
Who Should Win - M.I.A., "Bad Girls"
M.I.A. is badass let’s be real.

Who Will Win - Adele, "Someone Like You"
Again, everything done in black and white is “artistic.”

BEST DIRECTION
Who Should Win - Duck Sauce, "Big Bad Wolf"

Who Will Win - Watch the Throne, "Otis”

BEST EDITING
Who Should Win - A$AP Rocky, "Goldie"
A$AP is an OG for sure and this video shows it oh so well.

Who Will Win - Beyoncé, "Countdown"
While not so OG, the editing is still phenomenal and deserves an award or two.

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
Who Should Win - Katy Perry, "Wide Awake"
The girl does her thing and she’s good at it, the visual effects in this video are stunning and show that.

Who Will Win - Rihanna, "Where Have You Been" or David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj, "Turn Me On"

Tune in for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, they are set to go live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
