Barack Obama Speech Yesterday: Youtube Video, Joe Biden Speech, and Analysis

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden take the reigns as the major headline speakers to address the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, after former President Bill Clinton impressed the audience on Wednesday with a 50-minute speech that both liberals and conservatives alike are praising.

The table has been set for Obama and Biden on Night 3, as they make the case to voters as to why they deserve to be re-elected for a second term. Thus far, the DNC has gone off smoothly, without a major hitch, and the prime-time speakers, from First Lady Michelle Obama to keynote speaker Julian Castro, all impressed with solid speeches which did their job in exciting the Democratic base.

But none of that matters tonight, because all attention shifts to Obama and Biden, and whether they'll be able to deliver in the clutch in two of the biggest political speeches of their careers. Going into Thursday, polls revealed a statistical tie between Republican nominee Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, revealing the importance of this speech in igniting the Democratic base.

The speech was originally scheduled to take place, in Bank of America stadium, where the Obama campaign was hoping to bring 75,000 people together in order to reclaim the glory of th2 2008 convention, when Obama dazzled the crowd in Denver. But due to bad weather in Charlotte, the address has been moved indoors, scheduled to take place in the Time Warner Arena, where the other speeches have taken place throughout the Convention.

Obama's themes are likely to focus on his vision for America, and he'll explain why the change he promised in 2008 is a long time coming, but will still come to the country if he is elected to another term. Meanwhile, Biden is likely to take on a more traditional VP role as attack dog, hammering Republican economic policies and unwillingness to worth with Democrats in Congress.

Whatever happens, it will make for one entertaining night of television, and one important milestone in a long campaign season which gears up in the next month.

PolicyMic will be covering the speeches live, providing real-time analysis all night long. For updates, refresh this page and follow along. Let me know what you think in the comment section!

UPDATES: 11:10 p.m. "I'm not just a candidate, I'm the president." -Barack Obama

9:15 p.m. Do you ever wonder how certain music is selected for the conventions? Dr. Jill Biden was introduced to "I Got A Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Great song, but I'm not sure what the connection is. Dr. Biden is focusing strongly on military issues and her work as a teacher.

9:07 p.m. Former Congressman Patrick Murphy joined other vets and members of the military onstage. I'd love to see him run for something in the future, although he recently lost a Democratic primary for Attorney General in Philadelphia. He led the charge on Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal, and arguablly can be credited for the repeal.

9:04 p.m. Great to see Gabbie Giffords on-stage and in the audience tonight. Very emotional moment.
