A wildfire in Los Angeles County has forced authorities to evacuate at least 5,000 people in the affluent Calabasas suburbs, CNN reported on Sunday.

Calabasas is the home of several high-profile celebrities such as the Kardashians. The fire started after a pickup truck collided with a power pole on the Mulholland Highway, CNN wrote, and has since spread to over 500 acres.

"At one point the fire was licking right up through to the back yards of a lot of the homes of the residents in that area to the point where even sheriffs' deputies were grabbing garden hoses and using them to fight the fire," photographer Steve Gentry told CNN. "Things here in California, they're very dry and it doesn't take a whole lot for a fire to get going and spread really rapidly."

According to the Los Angeles Times, the blaze is now 30% contained, but has resulted in two injured firefighters, as well as damage to two homes and a commercial location. Another fire burning nearby in Riverside County off of Temecula Parkway claimed some 70 acres.
