Powerful Poem Nails the Hypocrisy of Saying "Go Back to Where You Came From"

Culture

If someone suggests you "go back to where you come from," you have three options: You can ignore and roll your eyes, tell them where or you can school said person with an epic slam poem.

In a powerful performance called "Come Home" at a Button Poetry Live event, Kevin Yang chose the latter three.

He is tired of Americans questioning his heritage or connection to the United States.

Surprise: He's from Minnesota.

If you're referring to "his people," you'll have to be more specific as to who you believe his people are.

Do you even know where you are from?

Because, after all, everyone has their own definition of "home."
