The dire consequences of the anti-Islamic YouTube video The Innocence of Muslims continue to be felt both at home and abroad.

As angry anti-American protests intensify all over the Muslim world, the backlash over the Hollywood-produced low budget YouTube film, that depicts Prophet Mohamed in an unflattering manner, is also being felt at home, with actress Cindy Lee Garcia unsuccessfully suing the producers of the film while also asking Google and YouTube to withdraw the polemic footage from their sites (given the numerous death threats she says she's received).

And now, a Pakistani Minister is offering a $100,000 reward for the death of Nakoula Basseley Nakoulathe the person believed to be behind the video. Federal Railways Minister Ahmed Ghulam Bilour said he would personally finance a bounty of $100,000 aimed at the maker of the "crude," low-budget video that has angered so many in the Muslim world.

Bilour told reporters in his home city, Peshawar, he would approve of Al Qaeda or Taliban militants carrying out the assassination. Adding insult to injury, Bilour said: “I also invite Taliban and Al Qaeda brothers to be partners in this noble deed.”

The bounty comes a day after violent protests paralyzed Pakistan’s largest cities, leaving 23 people dead and more than 200 injured, as well as public and private property worth millions of dollars damaged as a result of the "Muslim rage" caused by an indelicate yet legitimate exercise of free speech.
