Watch Franchesca Ramsey debunk 5 excuses for slavery

You'd think by now that all Americans agree that slavery was a bad thing.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case.

Franchesca Ramsey points this out on a recent episode of MTV's Decoded in which she shatters five ridiculous justifications people still give for slavery.

Her segment starts off with Michelle Obama's momentous speech at the Democratic National Convention, in which the first lady noted the long journey black Americans have made throughout history.

"I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves," Obama said. "And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn." 

Ramsey then calls out Fox News host Bill O'Reilly, referring to him as a "human fart bag," for attempting to rebuke Obama's quote by claiming White House slaves were "well fed and had decent lodgings."

She breaks down how offensive and illogical his statement is by reducing the phrase to its essential meaning: "Being a house slave wasn't so bad." She then goes on to explain that O'Reilly forgot to consider that these slaves were forcefully and violently stolen from their homes.

"If aliens abducted your brother, sister and favorite uncle and stuck a food tube down their throat while forcing them to build their emperor's house, would you think, 'Well, at least aliens fed my family'? I don't think so," Ramsey says.
