MTV VMAs 2016 livestream: Here's how to watch Sunday's awards show online

Sunday night, the annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York City's Madison Square Garden, with performances including Britney Spears, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Nick Jonas and Ty Dolla $ign, and Future. Presenters include Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jimmy Fallon, Alicia Keys, the U.S. women's gymnastics team and Jaden Smith.

A livestream will be available via MTV's website beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST, 45 minutes after the red carpet entrances start and two hours before the main event commences at 9:00 p.m., reported Rolling Stone. The pre-show, hosted by DJ Khaled, will begin at 8:00 p.m. 

Cable subscribers will be able to watch the show live on MTV beginning at 6:15 p.m. EST.

There's no formal host this year, according to MTV News, but a bevy of celebrities from comedians Key and Peele to Kanye West will be making various official appearances at the event.
