Revenge Season 2 Premiere: Jack and Emily, and What Happened to Victoria

Culture

Who doesn't have a guilty TV pleasure? For many people the ABC soap opera Revenge falls squarely into that category. As season 2 begins we are wrapped in as much Hamptons drama as ever, and from the sneak peeks Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) is just as cunning and cutting as we remember.

In a sneak peek from the season premiere, we see a pregnant Amanda (Margarita Levieva) in a familiar tete-a-tete with Emily. This time, Emily works her con magic to be the godmother to Amanda's baby.

Meanwhile, the Graysons will be picking up the pieces from Victoria's (supposed) death, and Daniel (Josh Bowman) is going to become a lot ... darker. In an interview with the Huffington Post Bowman said of Daniel: "The darker side of Daniel isn't really coming out yet, it's more that he's getting a bit more power. He's become obsessed with work and obsessed with being a part of the company and taking over in the right way, and not being part of what his father is about, which is the kind of dodgy dealings."

The other big drama this season will be Emily shifting her focus from sabotaging the Graysons, to finding out more about her mysterious mother (to be played by Jennifer Jason Leigh).

Of course the question also on everyone's minds is will this be the season that Emily and Jack finally get together? With a pregnant Amanda, and the presence of Daniel, that all sounds a little complicated.

For those of you not in the know, Revenge is based off the Alexandre Dumas novel The Count of Monte Cristo and follows Emily Thorne as she seems revenge on wealthy Hamptons aristocrats for her father's death.

Season 2 of Revenge airs at 9 p.m. Sept. 30 on ABC.
