Hillary Clinton claimed an easy victory over Donald Trump in a state, Connecticut, that has supported every Democratic presidential nominee since 1992. 

Despite its small geographic size, Connecticut is a state of more than 3.5 million people and carries seven electoral votes. 

Polls projected a Clinton victory in Connecticut, though by a smaller margin than Obama's recent victories there.
