Protesters swarm Trump buildings across the US the night of his presidential win

Impact

After Donald Trump shocked the nation by cruising to an unpredicted victory on Election Day, protesters took to the streets Wednesday night en masse across the United States to mount a rallying cry against his imminent presidency.

In New York City, thousands gathered outside of the Union Square metro hub for a march that wound its way up to Trump Tower in Midtown.

"We reject the president-elect!" protesters chanted, holding up signs that read "No to white supremacy!" and "Pussy grabs back!"

Other major cities in the United States, including Chicago, Washington, D.C., Seattle and Boston, also saw large crowds of protesters assemble.
