Seattle shooting: Multiple people shot near anti-Trump protest

Impact

Five people were shot Wednesday night in downtown Seattle, the Seattle Times reported, with at least two of the victims sustaining life-threatening injuries. Gunshots were reportedly fired a little before 7 p.m.

Witnesses told the Times that the shooting dovetailed with an anti-Trump march that was winding its way down the city's streets. The protest reportedly began as a rally at Westlake Mall before turning into a march.

The Seattle Police Department tweeted that the shooting does not appear to be connected to the protest.
