Carrie Fisher alleges affair with Harrison Ford during 1976 'Star Wars' shoot

Carrie Fisher, the actress famous for her portrayal of Princess Leia in the enormously successful Star Wars franchise, says she had an "intense" brief three-month affair with Han Solo actor Harrison Ford during the filming of Star Wars in 1976.

In an interview with People, Fisher said the affair took place while she was 19 and Ford was a 33-year-old married father of two. "It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend," she said.

According to Fisher, her and Ford spent the night together after a birthday party for franchise creator George Lucas. In an excerpt, she wrote: "I looked over at Harrison. A hero's face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow. How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?"

Fisher made the claims while promoting her book The Princess Diarist, out on Nov. 22.

Ford's agency did not immediately return a request for comment from Mic.
