Cyber Monday 2016: Best coupons, discounts, sales and more

Impact

Thanksgiving is over and so we move on to the holiday season — and to kick off that holiday shopping, many Americans will take advantage of Black Friday deals. But the discounts won't stop there. On Monday, Nov. 28, shoppers will be able to take advantage of a whole new range of deals at home from their computer, thanks to Cyber Monday.

On Cyber Monday, retailers of all kinds offer deep discounts specifically to online shoppers, which are often comparable — or even better — than their Black Friday deals. Adobe Digital Insights predicts that this year's Cyber Monday sales will exceed $3 billion, improving on last year's sales by 9.4%.

Since many stores participate in both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, many Cyber Monday deals are only released on the day of the sale so as to not detract from the allure of retailers' Black Friday deals. That said, here are some of the top Cyber Monday discounts and deals that we know of so far.

Tech

Leading superstore Walmart will be offering some substantial tech deals this Cyber Monday, including discounts on televisions, computers and drones. All Samsung HDTVs will be sold for 50% off the suggested retail price, while the Samsung 65" 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV will be sold for just $999, a full $1,200 off the television's full price. The store will also offer the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming Edition Laptop PC for $999.99 (a $300 savings) and discount drones from such brands as DJI, Parrot, Autel and Yuneed starting at $199.

Best Buy will be one of the best tech spots on Cyber Monday, and their online deals will go live one day early on Sunday, Nov. 27. The retailer hasn't yet officially announced its deals on its website, but Fortune reports discounts that include $229 for the HP x360 and a discounted price of $400 on the Lenovo Ideapad

Those looking for everything from kitchen appliances and bedspreads to groceries will be able to find it at Target, which will offer an additional 15% off on all purchases made both Sunday and Monday, along with additional surprise deals. Target.com will also offer free shipping on all purchases through Jan. 1.

Cooking enthusiasts can look forward to special Cyber Monday deals from Williams Sonoma, while those who need a caffeine fix will be able to get 25% off on all online orders at Starbucks, as well as free shipping when you spend $60. Other stores selling home goods on Cyber Monday include SearsMacy's and Overstock.com.

Travel

Cyber Monday will be one of the best times of the year to make any upcoming travel plans. Orbitz' special deals will include flights under $100 and 75% off select hotels, while Expedia will offer 90% off select hotel stays through their Expedia app.

The travel company will also offer special hourly deals beginning at noon Eastern, which Travelers Today reported will include up to 90% off flights within North America.

Though their deals haven't yet been announced, Dealnews reported that Travelocity's 2015 Cyber Monday sales included 50% off hotel stays — a more substantial discount than their Black Friday offering — making the Travelocity site one to watch for updates from as well.

For those looking to save on stays at some of the major hotel chains, The Points Guy reported that Hyatt, Marriott, Starwood and other hotels will all offer discounts on hotel reservations booked on Monday. Wyndham hotels will also get into the Cyber Monday spirit, with Budget Travel reporting that stays through March 2017 at Wyndham Grand and Wyndham Hotel and Resorts in select cities will be up to 40% off.

Other travel deals to look out for include $127 hotel rooms at Boston's Commonwealth Hotel (beginning at 1:27 p.m. Eastern on Cyber Monday and lasting for 127 minutes — or until 3:34 p.m.), deals on European train travel through RailEurope and up to 50% off round trip flights to Nadi, Fiji, on Fiji Airways.

Fashion & Beauty

Most major clothing and beauty retailers will be offering Cyber Monday sales, but Dealnews mentions that some of the best shops to hold out for until Monday include Kate Spade, Ugg Australia, Levi's and Lands' End, all of which offered better deals for Cyber Monday last year than they did Black Friday.

Some specific deals to look out for (or get a head start on now) include 60% off select items at H&M, 50% off sitewide at Old Navy, $40 off orders of $100 or more at Rent the Runway and 50% off five regular-priced items at Banana Republic with coupon code BRFIVE.
