Zurich Islamic Center Shooting: 3 shot, shooter reportedly dead
Three people were shot at an Islamic center in Zurich on Monday, according to a Reuters report. The suspected shooter, who immediately fled the scene, was still on the run as of 5 p.m. Eastern.
According to the BBC, authorities told local outlets they'd launched an operation near Zurich's main train station.
Police confirmed to local paper Blick that three men ages 30, 35 and 56 sustained injuries during the shooting. Some 300 meters from the scene, authorities found a dead body, which police confirmed on Tuesday was likely that of the shooter.
"We are working on the assumption that the dead person who was found is the culprit in the shooting at the Islamic Center in Zurich," they tweeted on Tuesday, according to Fox News.
Authorities still haven't said whether the incident constitutes a targeted attack, tweeting out that they'll report back when they know more, according to Blick.
