What Channel is the Debate on Tonight: Where to Watch the Ryan vs Biden VP Debate

Tonight at 9:00 p.m. (EST) Vice President Joe Biden and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will face off in this election cycle's one and only vice presidential debate moderated by ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Martha Raddatz from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. 

All major networks, ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS will be broadcasting the debate live with pre and post analyses by each company's top pundits and political consultants. Similarly, the major cable news channels (C-SPAN, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN en Espanol and others) will broadcast the event live plus the analyses of rigueur.

Though it is not expected this year's vice presidential debate will surpass the 2008 match up between then Senator Joe Biden and former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin in terms of viewership (Palin/Biden brought more than 70 million viewers), the Biden/Ryan battle will surely bring high viewership as the stakes have stacked up high for both VP candidates after the first presidential debate in which Mitt Romney soundly defeated President Obama to — as Romney surrogate and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie put it — turn this race upside down. 

Expect Biden to try to stop the Republican ticket's momentum by calling on what Democrats see as the "lies" of both Romney and Ryan regarding taxes and the budget. Similarly, following the Obama camp argument that Romney’s plan is short on specifics, expect the vice president to push Ryan on which cuts a Romney administration would enact in order to bring down the deficit. 

On the Republican side, expect Paul Ryan to try to exploit the vice president's many gaffes starting with the infamous "the middle class has been buried during the last four years" and following with "we'll raise taxes by a trillion dollars." Given Paul Ryan's lack of foreign policy experience (compared with Joe Biden), expect the vice president to pull a Reagan's "I won't exploit my opponents youth and inexperience" if the contentious issue of the 9/11/2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, comes up.
