Chris Soules returned to The Bachelor on Monday night to give 2017 star Nick Viall some tips for his journey to find love. But is Chris the best person to be giving advice? The season 19 lead didn't exactly get a happy ending.

Chris is currently single, according to E! Online. Bachelor fans who watched the 2015 season will remember that the Iowa pig farmer got down on one knee and proposed to contestant Whitney Bischoff. Their fairytale engagement didn't last long. The pair called off their engagement that May, just two months after viewers watched the romantic season finale. They released the following statement to Us:

Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement. They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey.

Chris told the outlet that October that he regularly talked with his ex. However, a tweet from Whitney during The Bachelor season 21 premiere on Monday night hints that they may no longer be amicable.

She clarified her tweet a short time later.

Whitney got engaged this past July to Ricky Angel, a Chicago regional sales manager. She made the announcement via her Instagram and has been updating her followers on wedding planning.
