Despite many thinking that Mahershala Ali would snag the award for best performance by an actor in a supporting role in any motion picture at the 2017 Golden Globes for his role in Moonlight, the prize went to English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson for his turn in Nocturnal Animals

"Thank you Tom Ford, thank you so much for this opportunity, Taylor-Johnson said. "Creating this role and collaborating on this journey was an immense joy."

Taylor-Johnson portrayed Ray, a man who targets Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Tony Hastings. Nocturnal Animals is up for two more awards; best director - motion picture (Tom Ford) and best screenplay - motion picture (Tom Ford).
