'Voltron: Legendary Defender' Season 2 Reviews: What critics are saying about the series
The second season of Voltron: Legendary Defender, Netflix's reboot of the classic 1980s animated series, is set to be released on Friday Jan. 20. The first season was incredibly well-received, with a stellar (can't get much better) 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
While the second season of the DreamWorks Animation-produced show will not be released until the end of the week, critics have been privy to sneak peeks of the first few episodes, and reviews are starting to trickle in. So far, they are very positive.
Check out the following excerpts from some early reviews of Voltron: Legendary Defender's second season.
Shamus Kelley, Den of Geek!:
Voltron: Legendary Defender has expanded beyond the scope of the original series. It doesn't need to reference it quite as much anymore because it's so astounding all on its own.
Dave Trumbore, Collider:
If you've been sleeping on Voltron: Legendary Defender, now's the time to get caught up. It's a fantastic series that expertly combines action, comedy and heart by introducing new takes on characters you actually give a damn about; the voice talent couldn't have been more perfectly cast; and it's beautifully animated, with special attention to the space battles which are absolutely breathtaking. You've never seen Voltron like this before.
