Miss France has been crowned Miss Universe 2016. Iris Mittenaere took home the tiara at the Jan. 29 pageant in Manila, Philippines. She replaces the reigning Miss Universe, Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

During her final onstage question, Mittenaere was asked about a time she failed and what she learned from the experience.

The first runner-up was Miss Haiti. Miss Colombia was the second runner-up.

Mittenaere wins more than the coveted crown and sash ensemble. She also wins what amounts to a full-time job. After the competition relocates her to a luxury apartment in New York City, she'll work on her objectives over the coming year. She'll earn a salary, travel opportunities and access to various entertainment and charitable events, as well as professional styling services.

Wurtzbach, Mittenaere's predecessor, made headlines when host Steve Harvey mistakenly crowned Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arévalo, instead of her. At this year's competition, Harvey returned to host the competition alongside plus-size model Ashley Graham. In his opening remarks, he joked about his previous blunder, saying that Wurtzbach thought she was first runner-up "for all of 28 seconds."

The judges this year were former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres; Mickey Boardman of Paper Magazine; former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen; producer and philanthropist Francine LeFrak; TV actress and model Cynthia Bailey; and former Miss Universe Leila Lopes.

Congratulations, Miss Universe!
