'Groundhog Day' movie: Where to watch the Bill Murray comedy Feb. 2

Culture

Groundhog Day 2017 is Thursday, and to acknowledge the annual weather prediction ritual, AMC will air repeated viewings of the movie Groundhog Day

In the 1993 film, Bill Murray plays Phil Connors, a TV weatherman who travels to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover the town's annual Groundhog Day ceremony.

But upon his arrival in Punxsutawney, Phil starts reliving the same day — Groundhog Day — over and over. When he finally accepts what's happening, he decides to take chances in his life that he normally wouldn't. (Anything to quit waking up to Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe" on the radio every day, right?) Andie MacDowell costars as Rita Hanson, Phil's love interest.
