Where was Tony Bennett during Lady Gaga's Super Bowl halftime performance?

Lady Gaga put together a strong halftime performance during Super Bowl 51 on Sunday — sans frequent duet partner Tony Bennett, who was rumored to be a guest performer.

But beyond a pre-recorded introduction to Gaga's show, Bennett did not perform, and the "Bad Romance" singer went solo.

Bennett tweeted at Lady Gaga, wishing her good luck before the performance and congratulating her for being "the most super thing about the Super Bowl" afterward.

Bennett and Lady Gaga have been collaborators since releasing the jazz album Cheek to Cheek in 2014.

Bennett performed at the 1995 Super Bowl with Patti LaBelle.

Beyoncé, who is from Houston, was also rumored to be a guest performer at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, but was also conspicuously absent.
