Cory Booker For President? Staffer Sets Up Website For Presidential Bid

Impact

It looks like Newark Mayor Cory Booker is doing anything and everything these days but actually running the New Jersey town.

The Democratic rising star, most recently known for his food stamp challenge, has reportedly set up websites for potential senatorial, gubernatorial and presidential bids.

According to Politicker, Booker’s fundraising advisor and former City Hall staffer Bari Mattes has purchased the web domains for BookerForSenate.comBookerForSenate.netBookerForGovernor.com and even CoryBookerForPresident.com.

He really is keeping his options open.

Booker, who came under Democratic fire for criticizing President Obama's negative campaigning against Republican challenger Mitt Romney, is rumored to be the Democrats' best bet to try to unseat popular New Jersey Governor Chris Christie next year.

However, if that doesn't work, Booker will presumably go on to try for for the Senate seat currently occupied by 88-year-old Frank Lautenberg — during a 2014 special election.

And, if that attempt also falls flat, Booker will presumably be ready to launch his first presidential run in 2016 (if Hillary Clinton keeps her word of not pursuing the highest office herself).
