Webster NY Shooting: Two Firefighters Killed

Impact

Early this morning, firefighters arrived at the scene of a house fire in Webster, New York. While they were working to put out the fire, an unknown gunman opened fire, killing two of the firefighters.

Another two are being treated for injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital and are listed as in critical condition, Webster local news 13WHAM reports.

The area had to be evacuated and the house fire spread from one home to three. The gunman is still at large.

13WHAM reported that Webster police confirmed that firefighters have returned to fight the spreading fire, and that so far, they haven’t been shot at this time.

This country’s tolerance for senseless gun violence is truly being tested, first with the murder of 20 children in Connecticut, and now with someone shooting at firefighters trying to do their brave, dangerous jobs on Christmas Eve.
