25 Things To Know By the Time You're 25
By the time you are 25, you’ve reached a milestone and you’ve lived long enough to know the basics. You are young enough to believe that anything is possible, and you are old enough to make that belief a reality. By the time you’re 25, you should know how to:
1. Find and apply for a job
No matter what job you want or need, you should be able to know how to apply to it. From filling out applications to going on interviews, knowing this process inside and out is crucial.
2. Save money
There is nothing better than knowing you have money saved up for a trip or a rainy day.
3. Vote
Regardless of who you want to vote for, just know how to do it. It would also be smart to know who your voting for and why.
4. Drink responsibly
Don’t be the person who drove drunk leaving a party last night. Be responsible and know your limit. Getting wasted is not a good look.
5. Manage credit cards
Being in debt from credit cards suck. If you are earning money and have not made a payment yet, in some years you’ll wish you had.
6. Create a career plan for your future
Know what career path you want or don’t want. In a few years, you’ll be glad you made those decisions early.
7. Keep a clean place
By now you should know how to be clean, especially when you want to invite people over. It saves time and keeps rodents away too.
8. Do laundry
At age 25, you should not be dropping your laundry off to your mother. Unless you have a maid at home, learn to do it if you have not already.
9. Date
You should be able to know what you want or don’t want. If a relationship is really not for you, don’t be in one.
10. Do things that make you happy
Do you like to travel? Take a road trip. Do you like to do photography? Go take pictures. Do what makes you happy.
11. Dress professional
At any moment in time, you could be called for an interview or get invited to a wedding. Always be prepared and know what professional clothing is.
12. Stay safe online
You hear about it almost every day. Someone posted personal information online and either their identity was taken or someone was stalked. Be careful of what you say on Facebook or Twitter.
13. Cook dinner for yourself
No one is asking you to be the next Rachel Ray, but knowing how to cook a meal for yourself will come in handy when you are hungry.
14. Seek your own religious faith
Choose what you want to identify with and not because of someone else. Even if you don’t identify with any type of religion, you’ve still made a huge step in knowing who you are.
15. Try something new
Have you ever wanted to try a new recipe or maybe be go skydiving? What ever it is you want to do, stop dreaming about it and go make it happen.
16. Network
No matter what type of job you have, if you want to go further you must know how to network. Being non-sociable won’t get you anywhere.
17. Plan the perfect party
Maybe its for a birthday or upcoming holiday. Know the ins and outs of planning a safe, memorable party.
18. Manage your time
When you are 25, being late is unacceptable. Plan ahead and be on time.
19. Compliment someone
Make someone’s day by telling them they look nice or did a good job on a project. It will make you feel good that you made someone else feel good about themselves.
20. Change your own tire
It will happen when you least expect it. You’re driving and all of a sudden, your tire goes flat. If you keep tools in your trunk, it will be more convenient to just do it yourself.
21. Buy a vehicle
Don’t let advertisers tell you want you need. Make the decision for yourself.
22. Keep up to date with the news
Know what’s going on in your world. Follow Blogs, listen to the radio, read newspapers, etc.
23. Give second chances
People make mistakes and some deserve second chances. Learn to forgive, but never forget.
24. Take care of yourself
Know how to take care of yourself when you are sick. Eat healthy foods and stay active.
25. Travel
Be familiar of your surroundings. Learn how to ride a bus, cab or metro. You’ll never know when you may need to use those skills to get back safe and sound.
